I’ve loved this song since I first heard it, even though it is kind of sad and (according to one of our friends in our practice group) gives off some serious stalker vibes. Regardless, I enjoy listening to this song, and whenever it plays, Jay and I belt out the chorus to each other.

I intension-mu, ti ma’åñao: We interpreted this as meaning that the girl is not afraid to show how she feels.
fagaga’on na låhi: The word faga’ga’on comes from the root word gå’ga which means “animal.” So the word fa’gaga’ literally means “to treat someone like an animal” as in to treat them poorly, as though they have no humanity.
Un sangåni i amigå-mu na ti guahu na klåse, eyu yan-niha i mañainå-mu, fagaga’on na låhi: We weren’t entirely clear on the meaning here, but we interpreted these lines as a single thought: “You told your friends that I’m not the kind of person your parents like, which is a man that they can treat terribly”.
